Three GTU doctoral students traveled to Philadelphia this week to participate in the 10th annual Asian Theological Summer Institute (ATSI), held at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia from May 31 – June 4, 2016. GTU students Su-Chi Lin (IDS), Therese Bjørnaas (THEO), and Hyun Ho Park (BIBL) are attending this year’s Institute, which gathers Asian scholars and Asian doctoral students in theological education. I look at my life and realize how incredible it is to find myself at the GTU in Berkeley. I am an American citizen, born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, but my abuelita (grandmother) is quick to remind me, “Mexican comes before American.  You are Mexican-American and do not forget it.”

On January 3, 2012, Kristin Johnston Largen boarded a plane bound for Jerusalem, Israel, the first of a series of four extended trips over a five month period. Wabash College President Patrick White has announced the appointment of Derek Nelson as the new director of the Wabash Pastoral Leadership Program. Nelson, who is a member of the Wabash College Religion Department, succeeds the founding director and his appointment is effective January 1.
