Asia/Asian American-related and Oceania-related Resources Across the Graduate Theological Union (GTU)

2.    Consortium resources at GTU include the Center for Islamic Studies (CIS) and Institute for Buddhist Studies (IBS):

Both CIS and IBS have greatly increased the scholarly  exchange and interfaith dialogue with the Islamic and Buddhist communities respectively at the curricular and extra-curricular levels.

Jenny Plane Te Paa, the Principal of Te Rau Kahikatea, College of St. John the Evangelist, Auckland, New Zealand. The GTU honors her this year with the Alumna of the Year Award. Dr. Te Paa was the first Colloquium event speaker for the Asia Project's Certificate program on Nov 4.  Her presentation was entitled, "Story-telling: The Traditional Medium for Weaving Culture and Theology in Oceania."

Spring 2010

Anri Morimoto, Professor of Religion and Theology at International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan, taught a course on Asian theologies.

Dr. Morimoto was also the speaker for the Surjit Singh Lecture in Comparative Religious Thought and Culture at the GTU on Apr 13, 2010.
