Liberation Theology and the Myths of Capitalism

Join renowned liberation theologian Jung Mo Sung for a lecture on the myths that sustain and empower the growth of capitalism and to consider alternative myths that can nourish alternative economies.  Lecture will take place in the Chapel of the Great Commission on the campus of Pacific School of Religion, beginning at 5 p.m.

Jung Mo Sung is Professor of Religious Studies at the Graduate Program in Religious Studies at the Methodist University of São Paulo, Brazil. 

Prof. Sung is widely recognized as a pioneer liberation theologian working at the intersection of theology and economics. He is the author of numerous books and articles, including *Desire, Market and Religion* (SCM Press, 2007) and *Beyond the Spirit of Empire* (SCM Press, 2009), co-auhtored with Néstor Míguez and Joerg Rieger.
