In 1373, Julian of Norwich received sixteen Revelations of Divine Love and recorded them in the first book ever written by a woman in the English language. Her work is an astounding contribution to Christian theology. Thomas Merton called Julian “one of the most wonderful of all Christian voices.” It is a voice we need to hear.
Veronica Mary Rolf, medieval scholar and award winning author of two books on Julian, will shed light on Julian’s themes, including her mystical theology of the motherhood of God. We will also explore the deeper meaning of Christ's promise to Julian (and to each one of us) that “All shall be well, and all shall be well, and thou shalt see thyself that all manner of thing shall be well.”
