The Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary will be honored with your presence at the a Book Forum on Dr. David Balch’s latest book: Contested Identities and Images being held at PLTS on February 24th at 1:30pm.
Balch’s book asks the question of how Luke-Acts participates in the ethnic, economic, and political debates of the first century CE. Balch argues that it is political biography and history, narrating Jesus as founder of a community that accepted foreigners and urged rich members to humble themselves to become one with the poor.
Panelists include Dr. Daniel Boyarin and Dr. Chris Hallett, both from UC, Berkeley and Dr. Cynthia Moe-Lobeda from PLTS and Dr. Annette Weissenrieder from SFTS. Rev. Dr. David Balch will be responding.
When: Wednesday, February 24, 2016 1:30-3:00pm
