A Vision for Tomorrow: GTU Alum Myoung-Ho Sin on Nurturing Faith and Leadership at BPMH

Rev. Dr. Myoung-Ho Sin (PhD ’21) is the Executive Director of the Berkeley Presbyterian Mission Homes (BPMH). At the GTU, Myoung was able to combine his engineering background with his faith and identified climate change as one of the most pressing challenges that humankind must face because of its likelihood of occurring and its impacts on the world. Now, as the Executive Director at the BPMH, he helps other theology students, scholars and missionaries on their journey. Myoung aims for BPMH to be carbon neutral by 2029.

GTU Alum Sr. Martha Ann Kirk Uses Art to Empower At-Risk Youth

Sr. Martha Ann Kirk, ThD, is a professor emerita of Religious Studies and of the Arts at the University of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas. In a recent conversation with GTU, she spoke about her work founding the Artistic Bridges project, the importance of utilizing art as a tool for healing and developing compassion, and how her GTU education prepared her for a career of service.

Dr. Mahjabeen Dhala spoke with the GTU Communications team about her recent publication Feminist Theology and Social Justice in Islam: A Study on the Sermon of Fatima. Dr. Dhala is Associate Professor of Islamic Studies, Director of the Madrasa-Midrasha Program, and Chair of the Women’s Studies in Religion Program.

2024 Excellence in Teaching Award Winner | Dr. Eugene Eung-Chun Park

Dr. Eugene Eung-Chun Park, Dana and David Dornsife Professor of New Testament, has been selected as the recipient of the GTU Excellence in Teaching Award for 2024. In his teaching and research, Dr. Park primarily focuses on studying the New Testament, combining historical and theological perspectives while emphasizing the importance of diversity.

2024 Distinguished Faculty Lecturer | Dr. Rita D. Sherma

Dr. Rita D. Sherma serves as the founding Director of the GTU’s Center for Dharma Studies, GTU Core Doctoral Faculty, and Co-Chair of GTU Sustainability 360—an interreligious environmental humanities initiative. She's held leadership roles as Vice President of the Society for Hindu-Christian Studies and as Founding Vice President of the Dharma Academy of North America.
